About Me

With over 12 years experience working within the fields of marketing, communications and customer services (including people and resource management) I offer the 'complete package' for your business development.

I have a keen eye for detail coupled with excellent design skills (including print production, website design and film-making) and a focus on delivering excellent customer service and value for money.  I am very experienced in working to tight deadlines, as well as organising and prioritising a large workload; whilst maintaining attention to detail.  I have successfully organized stadium events, film productions and undertaken the website redesign project for every one of my employers and contract clients.

I have substantial experience in a journalistic capacity, including copy-writing, editing and production of press, broadcast and web media.  I am an accomplished networker and negotiator, as the owner of a successful small business coupled with over a decade’s experience of working with and within the media industry.  I am competent user of social media for global, national and local promotion and am highly proficient at communicating to and understanding the needs of stakeholders.

I can work on my own initiative and as part of team; providing guidance and development to colleagues and staff were required. As a quick thinker, I can deal with complex ideas, issues and problems quickly to find the most appropriate (and cost effective) solution and/or response. 

I have been involved with business planning, developing strategic documents that appeal and effectively communicate ideas and concepts to a wide variety of audiences, and am highly competent at translating messages to successfully reach internal and external audiences; as well as global, national and local media.

I am confident and able to take the lead on a project, as well as working with team members to ensure all objectives are achieved.  My current and previous four roles have all provided me with line management and training experience, and I am an accredited IT Trainer.  My experience in launching and assisting small businesses, coupled with my experience of working in the public sector means I am quite used to managing a variety of large and complex projects with limited resources.

I have produced evidence files in support of company performance to secure funding and promote awareness of organizational objectives and successes.  My work to promote internal and external awareness was key in PHP achieving a 3-star excellent rating, and my work is cited in the final report as national best practice.

In many of my roles I held responsibility for the design and management of the corporate brand and development of the marketing strategy, communications and delivery plans. I am confident and competent at providing guidance and support to staff at all levels.  Every role I have held has involved working closely with Executive and Board level staff to develop and oversee media-based, creative, communications, customer service and improvement projects. As a freelancer, I have experience of providing templates, processes and strategies that enable business growth and development.

I am used to working with KPIs, and using benchmarking to monitor progress and ensure objectives are met.  My 11 years experience of producing print and film media means I am able to work to agreed deadlines and budgets to ensure I deliver quality value for money publications, productions and projects on time. Due to a heavy workload, often with conflicting deadlines, it is essential for me to prioritise work. No matter what project I am involved with producing, I always work to a project plan.
